You have reached the end of your retainer check phase of treatment. This means that you no longer have to come visit us for scheduled retainer checks! . Although we will miss seeing you, we are so proud of the accomplishments we have made together. We want to help you maintain that beautiful smile we have created by providing you with the following important information.
Bonded Retainers
If you have a bonded wire retainer, it can be left in place indefinitely. They do require more effort with cleaning, as you know, and the bonding material does not necessarily last a lifetime. Be certain your dentist or hygienist checks it at your routine cleaning appointments.
Removable Retainers
Retainers should be worn as “templates” to hold the orthodontic correction because all teeth will try to relapse to some degree without scheduled retainer wear.

For the first 5 years after your treatment is finished, we recommend that you wear your retainers EVERY night. After those first 5 years, we recommend that you wear your retainer at least 3 nights per week or every other night. Don’t stop wearing your retainers– otherwise your teeth will shift
Read Our Repair Policy
If you have any problems with your removable retainers or bonded retainers, call us as soon as possible so we can make necessary repairs before your teeth move. Your financial agreement covers the orthodontic treatment and up to one year of retainer supervision; however, any repair or replacement of the removable retainers or bonded retainers will be completed at our regular office fees.
